What is Tithing?

Tithing is the biblical practice of giving the first 10% of your income back to God through His church. It's not just about money—it's about trust, obedience, and recognizing that everything we have comes from Him.

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

A Test of Faith

God invites us to test Him through tithing. It's the only area in Scripture where He challenges us to try Him and see His faithfulness in return.

When we give sacrificially, we break free from the illusion that we are our own providers. Generous giving shatters self-reliance and greed, teaching us to depend on God rather than our bank accounts.

Self-reliance says:

"I need to keep everything for myself to be secure"

Faith declares:

"God is my provider, and I can trust Him with my future"

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

The Widow's Offering
